In 1478, the first written record of this grape variety appears, which takes its name from the Renesio hill, located above the village of Canale d’Alba, among the earliest properties of the Counts Malabaila of Canale.
In the Piedmontese dialect, the term Arneis refers to an extroverted and rebellious person, difficult to tame.
The Arneis is one of the symbolic grape varieties of the Roero, deeply connected to these sandy hills.
For this wine, three vineyards with similar characteristics were selected, with the aim of offering a classic expression of the Roero territory and of the winery’s winemaking history.
Perfect as an aperitif or also paired with white meats.
