In the Malabaila Archive, bundle 69 from the year 1583, it reads:
“Register of the possessions of Count Malabaila for the Merli estate.”
The Bric Merli comes from these lands historically connected to the family. It is a Nebbiolo that represents a classic interpretation of the grape variety, with aging in large oak casks aimed at enhancing its elegance, balance, and complexity.
Pairs well with meat main courses, such as rabbit with herbs and boiled meats.
The barn owl, a nocturnal animal, stands out for its attentive gaze and great observational ability, which allows it to hunt in the silence of the night. Its deep gaze recalls the depth and complexity of this wine, which fully reveals itself only to those who dedicate time and attention to it.
At the farmhouse, moreover, a pair of barn owls lives here and has long inhabited these places, a testimony to an ancient bond between the environment and the land where the wine is born.
